WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the country. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks..

Camping and Caravaning

National Trust - Osterley Park & House

Jersey Rd, Isleworth TW7 4RB, UK – 020 8232 5050

What a fascinating house. An Ostentatious display of wealth. Most of the original furniture still in place, not just some random stuff of the range era. Discover why the private ceiling of the first room is not repeated in the long gallery. See the 250 year old tapestry wall coverings (the equivalent cost of a modern superyacht) of one room, and original wallpapers in another. The four - poster bed was incredible with a huge dome in the top, and sumptuously decorated all over. Sadly we missed out on upstairs which has limited tours (included in admission). The walled garden was full of colour even late in the season, though many plants were nearly over. We didn't have time to wander the extensive grounds either. We'll have to return another day.

Beautiful area with lots of space for children to play. Feed the ducks in the lake and enjoy food at the Stables Cafe. Will be a great way to while away your time on a sunny day. If you are a National Trust member, you can explore Osterley House and the gardens for free. Again, on a nice warm day you can enjoy a picnic in the gardens. Parking costs about £4 if you are not a NT member. Watch out for the speed ditches as you drive up to the car park--they are lethal to the suspension. Observe the 5mph limit and save yourself some expensive repairs.

Inwood Park

Inwood Rd, Hounslow TW3 1XW, UK – 020 8583 5555

Very nice park, kept clean and well run. Sometimes there are some unfriendly/antisocially behaving people around, but would still reccomend this as a great park.

Pleasant family park with a good selection of children's playground kit, flower garden, basketball court, large grassy field, and a bit of "forest". Generally quite clean, and very nice during the day... but definitely not the safest of places after dark; more than one serious incident has been reported here after sundown. Still, if you go during the day, it's a great little family spot.

Cranford Park

Cranford, London TW5 9RZ, UK – 01895 247247

It's a good park for long walks, meditation and spending time with family

Avenue Park is adjoined to this park, with tracts of lush grass and greenery. Love visiting the park, sunbathing, relaxing and soaking up the grass barefoot. A little let-down is the amount of litter there is, which would be reduced if more bins were furnished. Also, only parts of the grass seem to be cut, leaving disparities in the length. Sometimes I felt like cutting it myself as I love the smell of fresh, cut grass!
