Hotels

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Airport

Eastern Perimeter Rd, Longford, Hounslow TW6 2SQ, UK – 020 8266 4664

Excellent staff, comfy bed, easy to get to the airport. A modern looking hotel with good staff, it's an easy place to stay before a flight. Would not stay here if visiting London. It's too far from the centre and there's nothing to do nearby, except watch planes. Food a touch pricey. As a place to stay before a flight it's great.

Decent hotel. Nicely furnished. Carpet slightly old, but bathroom is nice. Mattress is firm with a soft top, was very comfortable. Hotel itself was nice and clean, modern enterence. However my room was very cold (stayed December) and thermostat wouldn't let you warm up the room, also getting a coffee downstairs took over 30min - so loses one star for those. But would stay again for the night.

Travelodge London Feltham

Res Centre, High St, Feltham TW13 4GU, UK – 0871 984 6319

Good sized rooms in very good location. Basic items provided. However breakfast is not great and not much variety of food. No free wifi is provided.

Me and my children went into Feltham travelodge for some food, the food was lovely the deserts are amazing my children loved it. The stuff are lovely Tyron one of the receptionists was so polite friendly and caring making sure me and my children had everything we needed and making sure our meal was ok, also Justine another receptionist was very friendly and polite also the manager Emily and Aiga (another employee) polite and friendly all had smiles on their faces. The hotel was very clean and tidy and welcoming definitely will be going back

Travelodge London Hounslow

Lampton Rd, London TW3 1JG, UK – 0871 559 1859

My girlfriend and I stayed here during a layover in December. It was perfectly fine. No complaints at all. The room was quiet and very clean. The location was convenient, being right off the tube. There was some food and groceries a short walk away. I'm glad I spent the money on a room here. It was a great choice for some quick sleep.

Everything you would want of a Travelodge. Clean and value for money. If you're flying out of Heathrow it's an amazing option instead of a large taxi bill. Two words of warning, there is no parking facility (which, to be fair, they prominently advertise) and the area is a little grim to say the least. Though I've now stayed here twice for early flights and have seen no trouble at all.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Bloomsbury Pub

Staines Rd, Twickenham TW2 5BB, UK – 020 8898 8112

Excellent massive hd screen for sport. Not many beers but have naked ladies beer which is a favourite. Haven't had the food, but the rest makes it worth a visit

Lovely roast today. Always great service. Cauliflower cheese vegetarian alternative was really good, highly recommend

The Admiral Nelson

123 Nelson Rd, Twickenham TW2 7BB, UK – 020 8894 9998

This is a large traditional pub with plenty of seating, cozy fireplace and a separate restaurant area. Good choice of beers on tap plus a large selection of other drinks. There's also a large screen to watch sports. We went late weekday night when it was relatively quite, but I can easily imagine this place bring busy during the day with the football on. No complaints really, it's a nicer local.

Lovely pub that has not had the heart ripped out of it. Good fuller's ales. Good food. Lovely staff

The Hare & Hounds

Windmill Ln, Isleworth TW7 5PR, UK – 020 8560 5438

Location is good away from buzzing vehicles,so we enjoyed our meal in peaceful surroundings and atmosphere is very nice, service was very good didn't wait long for our ordered meals, staff are very friendly especially this one particular gentleman who served us, I wished I had known his name. He was wearing a green shirt. A love guy. Definitely is a place I would recommend to everyone even with young children. Thank you Hare and Hounds. We enjoyed tonight's meal. We will definitely be back sometime. Evie and Paul, Hillingdon

🌱(Vegan-options) Lovely decor and a great beer garden. This place had a very nice vibe and good food as well.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
